In this episode, I'm sharing a practical and manageable approach to decluttering using the SPACE system to Streamline Your Daily Routine as an overwhelmed and busy mom.
The S.P.A.C.E Framework and formula to will help you Spot, Pinpoint, Anticipate, Clean and Embrace your most stressful area and declutter your daily home routines.
If you are:
Feeling overwhelmed by clutter and the daunting task of decluttering.
Despite motivation, you're struggling to start decluttering due to the enormity of the task and recurring chaos.
Recognizing the need for a more effective approach to decluttering without overwhelming yourself further.
Then the SPACE system is for you: It's about identifying the most impactful area in your daily routine and taking targeted actions to declutter and organize it.
Spot:
Identify the most stressful area in your routine, which may not necessarily be a room.
Examples: Kitchen counters cluttered with mail and school papers, or entryways piled with shoes and coats.
Pinpoint:
Understand why and when the area becomes stressful within your daily routine as a busy mom.
Examples: Kitchen counters become stressful during meal prep times due to limited space, or entryways are chaotic during the morning rush.
Anticipate:
Visualize your ideal routine if the area were clutter-free and organized.
Examples: Smooth breakfast preparation with a clear kitchen counter, or stress-free mornings with a streamlined entryway.
Cleanse:
Take action to declutter the area systematically.
Dispose of rubbish, relocate misplaced items, and organize based on frequency of use.
Examples: Sorting through mail and creating a system, or decluttering and categorizing toys in a playroom.
Embrace:
Accept and appreciate the change in the decluttered space.
Adjust as necessary and focus on enhancing functionality.
Examples: Enjoying stress-free meal preparation on an organized kitchen counter, or maintaining a clutter-free entryway.
